Founded in 2009, our Executive Director Hillary Brook started Theatre South Orlando out of a small office at the Rosen JCC. With a philosophy that when students are inspired by working with diverse professional artists, anything is possible. Theatre South not only became a safe place for young people to learn their craft, but also a place for local professional artists to share their gifts while providing a place of mutual respect for this community
Our Mission
The mission of Theatre South Playhouse is to nurture, challenge, and empower our artists and audience in order to inspire and educate our Southwest Orlando community. We strive to create a safe space for artists of all backgrounds to gather together with the common goal to teach the values of mutual respect for all.

From how we create productions, to how we teach our classes, we work to recruit diversity amongst our staff, guest artists, and community leaders to share their knowledge and talents.
